Sunday 11th January 2026 – Parish Mass for The Baptism of Christ & Epiphany 1.
__________
Join us at St Thomas’ as we celebrate the Feast of the Baptism of Christ, the moment when Jesus steps into the waters of the Jordan and is revealed as God’s beloved Son.
This feast draws the season of Epiphany into sharp focus: Christ made known, not in splendour, but in humility; not above the waters, but within them. As the heavens are opened and the Spirit descends, we are reminded that God meets us where we are, blessing the ordinary and calling us into new life.
In our worship we give thanks for our own baptism — for the grace that names us beloved, the promise that claims us as God’s own, and the calling to live as people shaped by light, truth, and love.
As we renew our baptismal vows, we do so gently and honestly, aware that faith is sometimes strong and sometimes fragile. Whether we come with confidence, questions, or quiet uncertainty, we trust that God’s faithfulness does not depend on the strength of our words, but on the depth of God’s love.
As we gather around Word and Sacrament, we pray for renewal: of faith, of hope, and of our shared life as a community rooted in Christ.
All are welcome.
