Sunday 19th April 2026 – Parish Mass for The Third Sunday of Easter

Dear friends,

You are warmly invited to join us at St Thomas’ this Sunday as we celebrate the Third Sunday of Easter — a continuing unfolding of the joy of the Resurrection.

This Sunday we hear the beautiful story of the road to Emmaus, where two disciples walk in sorrow and confusion, only to discover that the risen Christ has been with them all along. In the breaking of the bread, their eyes are opened, and their hearts burn with new understanding and hope.

Caravaggio’s Supper at Emmaus captures this moment of recognition so vividly — the instant when ordinary hospitality becomes a revelation, and the presence of Christ is made known in a simple shared meal. It reminds us that Christ still meets us in the everyday moments of our lives, often when we least expect it.

With readings from Acts, the Psalms, and 1 Peter, we are invited to reflect on what it means to turn again toward God, to live with reverent hearts, and to be renewed by the living Word that calls us into hope.
