Sunday 18th January 2026 – Parish Mass for the Second Sunday of Epiphany.

__________

Join us at St Thomas’ as we celebrate the Second Sunday of Epiphany, as the light of Christ continues
to be revealed among us.

In the Gospel we hear John the Baptist point beyond himself and proclaim, “Here is the Lamb of God.” Those who hear do not receive a full explanation, but an invitation — “Come and see.” Epiphany unfolds not through certainty alone, but through encounter: by staying, watching, and allowing ourselves to be drawn into relationship.

This Sunday reminds us that faith often begins with a question rather than an answer, with curiosity rather than clarity.
The first disciples come as they are — searching, uncertain, hopeful — and in meeting Jesus, they find themselves named, known, and gently called into new life.

In our worship we give thanks that Christ still invites us to come and see: to dwell in God’s presence, to listen for the Spirit’s voice, and to discover how our own lives are caught up in God’s unfolding story. We are reminded that discipleship is not about having everything worked out, but about remaining with Christ and learning to follow, step by step.

As we gather around Word and Sacrament, we pray for attentiveness — that we may recognise Christ in the ordinary, respond with trust, and share the joy of discovery with others.

All are welcome.
