Sunday 25th January 2026 – Parish Mass for The Conversion of Paul & Epiphany 3.
__________
Join us at St Thomas’ as we celebrate the Conversion of Paul, as we reflect on the transforming power of Christ’s light in our lives.
In the Gospel we hear the story of Saul’s dramatic encounter with the risen Christ on the road to Damascus — a moment that turns certainty into humility, and persecution into proclamation. Saul sets out confident in his own righteousness, yet is stopped, blinded, and re-made by a grace he did not expect. In that encounter, Christ does not destroy him, but calls him by name and gives him a new future.
This feast reminds us that God meets us not only in moments of calm searching, but also in times of upheaval, resistance, and confusion. Paul’s conversion shows us that faith is not simply about gradual growth, but sometimes about being interrupted, unsettled, and turned around by God’s mercy. It is a story of repentance and hope, of brokenness and calling, of a life redirected toward love and service.
In our worship we give thanks that Christ still meets people on their own roads — in our questions, our struggles, our mistakes, and our longing for purpose. We are reminded that no one is beyond God’s reach, and that every life can be transformed for the sake of the Gospel.
As we gather around Word and Sacrament, we pray for openness — that we may hear Christ calling us by name, be willing to change direction when he leads us, and grow in courage to bear witness to his love.
All are welcome.
